GEORGIAN IV SILVER VINAIGRETTE MAKER THOMAS SHAW

Spectacular Georgian silver vinaigrette, measuring 3 cms, gold gilded on the inside Has a small hole to the side, probably would have been worn on a long guard to use regularly because of the stench from the Georgian streets.

It is hallmarked in three places, Birmingham , George IV, maker Thomas Shaw, he worked from 1818 - 1845 on snuff boxes and vinaigrettes.

His work was always exquisite quality looking at the flower border, the engine turning and the pierced flower grill. In excellent condition all round, weighs 16.3 gms.
